Michigan Net Zero Homes LLC is committed to designing and building 100% Phius certified homes. Energy Star certification is one of the prerequisites for Phius certification. Therefore, we are pleased to be an Energy Star partner!
ENERGY STAR is the government-backed program that helps us all save money and protect our environment with energy-efficient products and practices. Whether you are looking to replace old appliances, remodel your home, or buy a new house, ENERGY STAR can help. More than 60 types of products, including appliances, televisions, computers, heating and cooling equipment, and even new homes can earn the government’s ENERGY STAR label. ENERGY STAR also offers best-practice solutions to make your home more comfortable and reduce your energy costs.
Our first project, MiNet0-1, recently earned the EPA’s ENERGY STAR certification. See the previous blog post for details. The home itself is certified, as are all the appliances in the home. In fact, the washer and dryer received the Energy Star Most Efficient 2025 designation. Energy Star certification is an important part of making our homes as energy efficient as possible.
Another EPA program, Indoor AirPlus, is also a prerequisite for Phius certification. MiNet0-1 recently earned the EPA’s Indoor AirPlus certification too, helping to make the home’s indoor air as safe and healthy as possible for its occupants.
