Hi, Dale here. Welcome to Mi Net Zero! In this blog, we normally explore the why, what, and how of net zero living.
In this post, I want to detour briefly and introduce myself.
If you’d like to read resume details, see my LinkedIn page.
What’s most relevant to this business is that I’ve been around construction for over 40 years, 30 of those in commercial HVAC where I served as an engineer, project manager, and business leader. I helped start a small team that grew to be a small factory. We built special features into commercial rooftop units, split systems, and chillers, including many that saved lots of energy for customers. I even have my name on a couple of patents. They reflect both my passion for innovation and the blessing of being in the right place at the right time, which was way back in 1999 when we were working on better ways to do dehumidification.
I’m a licensed builder in the state of Michigan, a GreenHome Institute Associate, and most importantly for this work, a Phius Certified Passive House Consultant, a certification I tested for in 2021.
My personal mission is “I continually learn and create in order to help people live sustainably.”
I want to seek and speak truth, create new things, be helpful, and work together to leave the world better than we found it.
I lead a creation care team at my church and volunteer with Citizen’s Climate Lobby, the Grand Rapids Climate Coalition, and Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association.
Thank you for engaging! Let me know what you think!
I invite you to bookmark this page and check back to learn more about how your home is your key to net zero living.
I will aim to post by noon on Fridays. Next week is Company Mission.
